The rules of acquisition (Turf Wars)
Forums › Help & Strategy › The rules of acquisition (Turf Wars)-
1) Do not cap inactives
2) Do not cap a person if they have the same emoji tags as a bunch of other ones. They're probably in an alliance.
3) If you put loot out, expect it to be taken.
4) If you see loot, take it.
5) Spend your skill points in stamina.
6) Do not buy loot crates unless you intend to buy a lot of them.
7) These are OTB's pants. We are just guest here.
8) Always hop when you can. Spreading out is one of the most important things here.
9) Punch codes.
10) Do not buy expensive upkeep weapons if you do not intend to fight. It's a waste. -
11) Join an alliance or make friends.
12) Do not use the word "retard" in the forums or anywhere else in this game.
12) Do not use racist language.
13) Do not ask people why they capped you. This is a war game.
14) Do not try to police the forums. Especially the vendetta forum.
15) Attempting to cause a lynch mob can be bad for you.
16) Do not brag about your expensive cars or helicopter. Nobody gives a shit.
17) Do not cuss a bigger player out for taking a capo.
18) If you have a good mob and no stamina, you're useless. So don't try and threaten people with it.
19) Do not make leveling up your primary goal. All it does is increase the number of turfs that can be captured from you.
20) I like turtles.
Feel free to add to this list. -
21) If you wish to start a vendetta on someone, have a friend start it. You jump in after the 24 hour waiting period is over. This gives you the element of surprise.
-
22) When choosing allies for a vendetta, make sure the V is just big enough to defeat the other person. Overkill hurts your range.
-
23) When planting to cap an enemy, make sure you're just close enough to cap them. If you're any closer, they might cap you before your turf matures.
24) After you plant the first turf on the edge of the cap range, use a coin or something to measure it. That way you know the distance to plant away from the enemies other turfs. -

It varies depending upon the mob size of the target. The larger the target the greater the radius it can be capped from. What is the radius for capturing?

If you're small and the other guy is big, you have a good range. If you're big and they're small, you have to be right on top of them. Ex: 50k mob guy needs to be feet from 1k guy. 1k guys range on 50k guy is 2 miles. 1k guy joins a vendetta big enough to beat 50k guy and has a range advantage. This is called sniping.dutch kid wrote:

But keep in mind that you're range is effected when joining a V.
-
You can also snipe people that are in a vendetta that would normally be too big for you to beat. Them being in a vendetta makes them weaker.

Who is OTB and what is the definition of inactive here?
-
OTB is a vet who has recently been forum banned. There is a joke that I never really understood, something about his pants.
An inactive is a player who is no longer playing but has turf on the map. These turf are valued because they boost area economy and you can tax them without complaints(which is why it is seen as negative to cap inactives.). Shoot me a pm if you need any help! -
These rules are not set in stone. You can play however you want, but if you decide to be a jackass, there will be consequences.
-
25) Don't think that because you outnumber someone by 20k mob that you can beat them. Little guys with friends can give you one hell of an ass whoopin'
-
27) Do not tell people what to do unless you can enforce it.
-
28) Don't try and take over the world on your first day. Learn the game first and understand why you can't first.
-
Can I cap an inactive if no one is taxing them?

Not always true. If its the middle of a busy city it might well be diverse enough to not affect it.
Still not a good idea to cap inactives tho

Don't call people fanooks. (I never thought that is be writing that one)
-
29) If a bigger player threatens you, don't target them in a vendetta without thinking. (I've had experience)
-
30) if when asking for help in the vendetta forum if you don't put much effort in to explaining the situation and answering questions, don't expect others to put much effort into helping you. (Read Mystery's thread on how to ask for help in the vendetta forum.)
-
31) Turf make more money in populated areas.
32) Having multiple turf right next to each other will attract players who will tax your turf.
-
33) When punching codes, hit go instead of tap this box to dismiss. It goes a lot faster.
-
34) you can't cap turf when attacking players you are targetting in a V. You can only destroy the turf.
-

I'm trying to capture a turf of this other player near me with 1658 mob while I have 1670 mob. My attack beats out his defense 34,000 to 27,000 but I consistently lose to him and I don't understand why. Any suggestion? I'm open to anything.
-
Your influence maybe to high. He is under Don protection.
You're over your daily cap limit with this player
You're not close enough
You haven't controlled your turf long enough. There's a checklist on each turf as to whether you can or can cap a turf.
-
No I mean I'm trying to capture it, but when I fight him he wins the fight. It made no sense at all
