What Do Alliances Look For?
Forums › Help & Strategy › What Do Alliances Look For?-
This was posted in GD in response to a 6k-ish player's question about how to find an alliance to join. I received a number of PM's suggesting I make a thread here. This is just an overview, every alliance is different. Alliance-style play isn't for everyone, and some of the suggestions like stamina and airport urgency may not apply to general gameplay.
To be seriously considered for a viable alliance you probably need to get to 7500-10K mob, and do so rather quickly, at least relative to people who started out the same time as you. Also increase turf limit as much as your budget or free RPs will allow, don't use them for anything else other than global police protection when you lack a consiglerie. Use skill points on stamina.
Spread out, get to a turf wars airport asap and plant turf in new places every couple weeks. Once you land hop far away from the airport, turf owned at the AP by players your size gets capped fast. Hop back in to fly to the next place.

Do not talk smack on people's walls or in the forum. No alliance wants someone whose mouth will make them all look bad.
From time to time, PM the Capos of cities, particularly major cities you are new to. Also PM people in various positions on the leaderboards, and people with experience who seem helpful on the forums. Introduce yourself and ask them respectful questions, especially if they are skilled in one particular area like hopping, mobbing up, or diplomacy. If they don't answer, don't bug them. Ask someone else.
Don't cry, throw horses heads, car bombs etc when you lose turf. If you have the right attitude, getting capped is a good icebreaker.
You'll often see the answer "alliances find you" and that is frequently true. Most alliances are aware of fast-growing players over 10k near them. Keep in mind they may be watching you because you're pretty unknown and might be a threat.

The vast majority of the "alliances" (not all) that are started up on the forums do more harm than good, there is little to no screening or direction, and the stupid stuff most of them do may reflect on you. A few 2,000 mob players with a pal room and an acronym won't do you any good, and will most likely annoy the vets and actual alliances out there.
Most importantly, learn the game. Read the wiki. Read the help forum, read the whole threads to learn the evolution of things. Read the help section from the home screen itself.
Legitimate alliances will approach you when you have consistently demonstrated a good attitude, work ethic, and knowledge. You need to look like the type of player that will contribute, and not one who wants a free pass to be a jerk and then hide behind 40k plus crews.

Aside from all of these good points, we like to look for people that we get along with. I know it sounds simple, but if we're considering a player for recruitment, we already know most of your stats, and a fair bit about your reputation. That's why a significant portion of what goes on in our recruitment room is simply trying to get to know the player outside of the game.

I'd say way more than 1/20You should also have and maintain at least 1/20 the mob of the largest mob in the alliance.

I think it would be better to pay in game cash on police protection instead of using Respect Points. Respect points do add up quickly so turf limit, and stamina is most key. Mobbing up and good aditude is pretty much all you need.

Some people seem to be wondering about alliances in both forums and I got pretty good feedback on this rundown

From playing other games alliances can be a pain in the butt. Be very picky before you join. My experience in other games is that they get you in a lot of wars for stupid reasons.

Wonder how accurate this is now. Imean do people still even recruit? What would make you stand out if you're apart of an alliance?

There are people in alliances with less mob than you. It also depends upon other factors including style of play, respect location etc...✯βιuεᏀяιffoη✯ wrote:

Small mobs are always useful, one thing that is needed more than mob is a good turf limit and good income, also a willingness to hop, sometimes very long distances.

Thank. Guess everyone is just booked for alliances now then lol.

This thread is still needed

Don't join an alliance if you're a casual player- it's a pain in the ass unless you have a lot of spare time for TW

Someone was asking about this.

Advantages: Make friends, have more meaningful game objectives like defending an area, have some muscle behind you if you find yourself targeted unreasonably.
Disadvantages: If someone in your alliance does stupid shit, it can reflect on you. You may be called upon to hop, fly, or fight in areas you wouldn't be interested in otherwise.
Mob size: Varies by alliance. Consistent mob growth is almost always required, though.

This info is needed again.
