Invite nearby mobsters

I'm going on a road trip around Europe soon. Will I be able to add nearby mobsters every 50 miles or so? Or do I have to have a turf in each area?

It's nearby to you, not turf. I added about 200 mob last week like that. I was punching codes too, but I saw a big increase on those days on the road.
