I need advice on how to deal with some players...

A lot of us higher level mobsters are often asked for help by lower leveled/mobbed ones. They ask us to talk to a bully or go attack someone/turfs to death...
Most of those who ask have had absolutely no previous conversation or rapport with the big guy/gal they're asking. I'm all about helping the little guys, and usually I'll help w/ no questions asked, but where do they get off asking a complete stranger? (Obviously, I'm using the term "stranger" loosely since we're all strangers here.) It's just kind of off-putting & I've gotta say, I don't always want to help or feel obligated to help.
We've kinda talked about this once before, a while back, and someone made the statement "What makes them think they're in the position to use us?"What I want help with is:
how do you nicely let these little guys down gently without just telling them "deal with it, we all went through it as the little guy"? -
Bella,
Can you hit Jay Dee for me? He keeps threatening me.
-
Well, I think you've just sorted this out...just tell them to read this post.

I'll always help people in SF but I don't help anyone unless they bother to make some sort of case. I won't even respond to the request. It's not insulting per se but annoying when someone won't articulate what they want and why.
Almost always they've been doing the same thngs they complian about anyway and more often then not the "harassment" they're feeling is just blow back from their own brute dealings.

There should be a way to donate to the capo or anyone else for that matter that way they could gift you items or money as incentive for the big boss to help out with things.

I remember asking Bella for help when I first started. I wrote my life story on her board, lol.

Bella,
I truly do not think I have EVER helped another smaller player bc every time I look into it, it turns out to be one of the following:
1) they don't understand that getting attacked less than 8x every 2 days by the same player is part of the game.
2) they got sassy to a bigger player and now r getting their butt kicked for it. And now they refuse to apologize to the bigger player. Pride before the fall.
3) they just want revenge and they won't try diplomacy.
4) they are too lazy to punch in codes and build their mobs up.
I just can't be an enabler to bad gameplay.

Addendum to my post above:
My "never helped a smaller player" means attacking another player for them.
I have given out LOTS of free advice and tips though...even to those I attack 😋

Yeah, & I was more than happy to help you, right? It's all in the approach too, I think. I've been known to tell weaker players that the 3 best things you can do in this game are bank your cash, build up your mob, & make positive connections with the right stronger players.
Btw, thanks Patsy & Nixon.
& Hum- NO I will not hit JayDee for you! Mob up!! Don't be such a slacker!! ;)

Theres scarely any way to really be a good guy in this game. People I attack get pissed.. I tell them it's part of the game and if they bank their money, i won't attack. Pretty simple solution.
Then they threaten me and blah blah blah. I've coached a few people in my territory along so they can develop along side me b/c the income boosts are mutual and I've protected some real life friends from in game turf attacking bullys but other than that it's really every person for themselves.
I added a lot of codes b/c I didnt want to get my ass kicked. If you put in the effort, the game gets much much less stressful.

Indeed, you did help. You'll get the majority of those asking for help leaving short messages asking you to attack someone else and it's a little rude to assume it being done.
I was implying, with some effort and respect, players stand a better chance of gaining aid when needed aswell as an ally for the long term.
It does feel a whole lot better though when you can fight and defend your own battles.

I help locals (when not taking a turf here and there) but I let them try to sort it out themselves first, then step in if the other player Is clearly being a prick.

"dontits", oh Lordy me, do not let The Don here u say that, he is very sensitive about his Marlon Brando man-boobs...

Hey, I'm only 102 mob behind you now!!!

I think there should be a pay out for helping out another player who is asking for help. If you want help, well help me out and show me the money

Good point all. Guess for the US it's easier and tougher at the same time. This game concept is new to many people and some who get attack will immediately just cry foul. (which is part of the game) however, bullying to me is not. Seriously, how difficult is it to take on a small guy in most aspects. (Mc D vs the local one or 2 shop) excuse the comparison.
And styles of playing are definitely just part of it. However it also reflects on one's character(albeit "strategy") great if you are strong and help players along and as well if you don't cos it's your right.
However, to really get this game off the ground, all you big, powerful guys are in many ways custodians of the game and it's great that you give tips and help along (it's commendable even if no one says so)
nonetheless, there can be real bullies who will get what they deserve even if not in this game.FL

I do know that out here in Asia, it's slightly different in terms of dynamics of the game and personally diplomacy for me did not work and getting hit 8x a day is child's play but this is a game and it's sad that there are people who continue to bully and hide under pretense that this is the game. Love how some of you have a good clean fight and have somewhat of a friendship.
Anyway it must feel good if someone sincerely looks up to you for help as it's a respect given to ask for help. Whatever the outcome, it's your right and no one should/can fault you for it.
