ATK and DEF Question

Greetings all. I'm just getting back into this game after getting an iPhone and making a new account, and a lot is different, but one thing has me scratching my head: my attack and defense totals. I have (according to the numbers in the market) 51 attack and 61 defense. Now, I have 6 members in my mob, and they all are equipped with Galesi Model 503's, which have an attack rating of 8 and a defense rating of 9. I also have one point in attack and defense (which was a stupid move on my part).

Adding all this up, shouldn't my grand total be 49 attack and 55 defense, or am I missing something?

You have other weapons as well. It wil assign the highest rated weapons first. Things like armor, kevlar and riot shield also have attack ratings

Yeah I just couldn't figure out why the numbers weren't adding up, but I finally found the reason: the Chainsaw and Riot Shield were being factored in. Thank you for the quick reply though; I appreciate it.
