Would claiming turf at an airport be a good idea. Would it make any money?

It depends how many other players are there. If there's none, maybe not. If there are at least 1 or 2 players with turfs there it might be a good idea. Airports are usually a good place if it's a big enough airport, because this way players who visit your city that fly in will see turfs there and place a turf which means more income for the people already there.

My turf at LAX is among my most profitable, bit they are often ground zero for wars. I think in the last couple months I get capped an average of four a week and have been caught in the crossfire of three wars. I think it's worth it.

Yeah I have a tourist turf at LAX and it's bringing in 50k an hour. It is a volatile place and very tempting for people to just cap you. I suggest also putting a turf just outside large airports out of range of anyone as a backup.
