Need help forming a turf amount for hop formula

  I am trying to hop but I want to know the amount of turf needed. I do not care about the cost but the amount of turf. I have come up with 4 variables:
 A=Turf Amount
 D=Distance
 I=Turf influence per turf
 R=Build Radius determined by influence of turf amount.The formula i got so far is this:
 A=?I can not figure out how I should organize the variables of D, R, and I though. When I did them in standard form at A=DIR, I plugged in the info, which is A=38•86•.4, and got in the end 1,307.2. Common sense with a bit of hopping experience tells me it does not take 1,307 turf to hop 38 miles using only 86 influence turf at maximum build radius, or close anyways, per turf. I need help figuring out which operations in want order is the correct way to organize the formula to get an accurate answer using this general variables.

  You're multiplying by 86 for the influence. Realize that 86 influence equals 1 turf.

  3 turf per mile I think is the average, so 38x3.. There was a thread before about this and I think it's 3 turf per mile average, if you have bad Placement it turns to about 4 turf per mile average.. Hope that helps

  You can place a turf approx 0.4 miles from an 86 inf turf. Of course that depends on how fat your fingers are. Lol

  2.5 turf = 1 mile. E.g. 50 miles= 125 turf.

  Why don't you just start the hop and after 10 turf see how far #/# you've gotten...
