attacking & capturing turf
Forums › Help & Strategy › attacking & capturing turf-
Hi,
what do i need to succesfully attack a turf? I guess i have to be close to it, but how will the fight be done? The attack point of my mob against the defense points of the turf? Will the opponents mob count in as well?
Same question for capturing a turf. Do i "just" need a strong mob? Is it against turf defense or turf defense plus defenders mob?
Would it make sense to attack a turf several times before trying to capture it?
Or woud it make even more sense to just attack the turf to lower its influence a bit and then build several turfs around it to collect protection money (assumed that the owner is inactive)?Thanks Don, for your wise and generous help, it is highly appreciated!
All for the family!

1.To attack a turf: go to the turf's profile and press attack. To win, have a higher attack than your opponents defense. Ex. 2 shanks beat 1 shank.
2. To capture it, you must have a turf close to that turf, be able to win a fight with the owner of said turf, and your turf must have been there for 24 hours.
3. It would be best to cap the turf. It can offer more Ks per hour potentially. However, if you plot several turf around said turf that have over that turfs influence, it could be a good idea, depending on the amount of turfs you have on the other turfs. -
I highly suggest reading the how to capture checklist thread stickied as the fourth thread. The FAQ thread is also very helpful. I would type a detailed answer for you but people have already put a good amount of effort already.

@dark:
I read both threads several times before i posted my questions. If you read these threads AND my questions, you would know that the answers are not given there. -
OK I'll read it again, I admit it was pretty late last night when I looked at it so maybe I just missed understood.
To fight and win when attacking a turf (or a player) you need to have more attack power than your opponent has defense power. To get attack/defense power you add up you more power weapon's attack with your more powerful armor's attack. Each of your mob can only use 1 weapon/armor so having 5000 armor and 500 mob is a waste of 4500 armor. If you have aprox 30% more attack vrs their defense you should win nearly 100% of the time. Remember its mob vrs mob so their mob counts.
OK now if you are able to win the fights then you get money and possibly experiance. To capture a turf you just need to be able to knock a turf to 0 hp while and win a fight. If you can do that and you meet the capture checklist criteria then tada new turf for you.

As for making turfs around other players to capture money. This is a difficult question to answer because it depends if you are near your cap limit, how big the turfs are, if there are other players around. Generally speaking though placing a turf over 1 small turf isn't worth it unless the area you place your turf in is crowded and thus would make good money anyways. If you can get protection money from 2-3 larger turfs (28-64 inf) then at would be a good spot. You can collect protection money from a 84 inf turf but if you knock some HP off it then you will collect some until it fully heals. My warning is in general people don't mind if you attack them, but if you attack turfs they get offended and start to retaliate and sometimes in a big way.
Hopefully that answers your questions better.
