No it doesn't really gain money but all the turf in that area stops paying "police protection" so you just get more of your own money

Capo gets you free police protection. If you don't pay your police protection (when your not capo) then you could consider this "gaining" income. You can pay off your police protection which increases your income without being capo. Capo just means you save cash on paying the police
