The don advantage

So in order to move in one location I must capture a turf from a smaller player who stand closer to a larger player. My problem is the smaller player keeps getting an advantage from the don when defending so I constantly lose. I have been recruiting more mob members and spending cash on more guns but is there any known factors that can be explained so I will know when I am overpowered enough to succeed in attacks?

If the don helps a player then you WILL lose. No exceptions.

That's actually not true. The other day I was attacking the same player and was winning most of the fights despite the don helping. However, since taking the last turf from that player I have been unable to win. I can only assume to added power is a result from either the amount of turfs I've captured from this player, the total difference in influence or simply because the universe is against me in this issue.

I've attacked people several times and won when the don helped them

I got the same problem, is it influeance based or level based?
