  Ok I'm going out of town in a couple of days and ive never laid turf outside of my hometown, do I just lay it or is there something I have to do first?

  Just lay it. If you are doing it to increase income, let people around you know. If you are doing it to cap, then blend in and cap in the 24th hour.
