It's not working because he has 5 times the amount of mob your vendetta has.

You are the only member of your vendetta, therefor it is still a one-on-one battle.

You need to invite people to your vendetta. Look in the Vendetta forum for more help.

And you can't capture turf with a vendetta. You can only destroy it.
