Turf defended by the don

I tried to capture my first turf today. The turf is the same size as mine but the player is 8 levels below me. My first attack was a success but then the don intervened and said go pick on players your own size. Will I be able to cap this turf?

How big was the other guys mob? Level doesn't mean a whole lot it's more about your combat strength compares to each other.
