How to: protect your Tw Account and remove it from old devices
Forums › Help & Strategy › How to: protect your Tw Account and remove it from old devices-
If you are going to give away or sell your iDevice, or have a lost device, there are steps you need to take to make sure your TW acct is safe:
1) If you're transferring your iDevice to someone else you need to remove your acct.
To do this you need to message tw support with the udid you'd like to remove. YOUR ACCOUNT WILL NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE DEVICE UNTIL YOU DO THIS!
To acquire your udid, plug in the device to iTunes and click on the serial number section. It should change to show udid. You can even copy and paste it.
2) If you don't have the device for whatever reason, you can change your password by visiting www.turfwarsapp.com/password. You will also need your udid for this procedure.

You need your password to log into your account on a new device. It's also used to access the forums from a pc.Also what is the point of changing my password *
If you have already gotten rid of your old device & do not know your old UDID or your password, you'll have to contact support.

When you open tw the app uses your password to key in. Changing the password makes it so any old devices can't access tw. Or that's the way support explained it to meAlso what is the point of changing my password *

Is this just for removing your account from the device, or is there some way to transfer your account to a new device?

To put your account on a new device, simply download TW, click on the Returning Mobster tab & enter your player name & password. Is this just for removing your account from the device, or is there some way to transfer your account to a new device?
Note: If you are not going to use your old device, you should have your account removed from it. In the past people have not received their notifications because they were being sent to their old device, rather than the new device.

Having the same account used on 2 different devices in 2 different locations would be considered cheating. It will lead to a player being reset and/or banned.

I recently got my broken iphone(screen) replaced with a new iphone- same model. I backed up my info from old phone and restored the data on my new phone. The new phone didnt require any new download, password or login. It works is as if i never changed phones.... According to this thread, I didn't think this was possible. Why don't you just recommend to backup & restore from backup?

Then you didn't read very thoroughly. The issue isn't putting your account on a new device, the issue is also leaving your account on an old device.I recently got my broken iphone(screen) replaced with a new iphone- same model. Go to your Profile. Click the "Settings" button. From there you can:
1) Change your password.
2) Enter an email address to "protect your settings & recover your account in case you lose your password.
3) Manage your push notifications.
4) Reset your account. -

Ok heres a question. My 3gs turned into a brick when i tried to put the new iOS update on it. Im now using a new 4s.
Obviously, i had no problems logging in. The 3gs, as i said, is now a paperweight.
Do i still need to worry about 'removing' the account from it? Not like anyone can access it.

It's a good idea to go ahead & have the account disassociated from the old device. At the very least, it should stop the potential issue that others have had in the past, where push notifications were sent to players' old devices.Ok heres a question.
