Respect point question...

I bought some respect points but I can't but the same amount again. Can this be fixed? Do I have to move to some higher amount? Can I just keep buying the lower amounts? If not then what if you already bought all the respect points options but still need to buy police protection?

Pay for the police protection with in game cash, the option is at the top of the mission screen. Doh!
