Is there some kind of code of etiquette for this game that I'm not finding? I keep hearing different things for different reasons and am trying to understand why...

The main thing you need to know is don't attack turf just randomly. That messes with income and is generally grounds for retaliation.
-
And dOnt start a V against someone bigger then u just because of regular attacks
-
Yeah I've been warned to ask Permission to take capo, warned about taking turf randomly and warned about vendettas. So what is the point of the game of you have to ask permission for everything? And candyman I had been playing for all of like 2 weeks when that happened, and I dropped it after you explained it
-
I know I wasn't giving u shit chill out... Asking permission is only if u don't want to go to war u don't have to ask permission to take capo.. Some ppl don't care but others do if u don't ask and pissoff a guy 4x ur size he's gonna squash u that's y ppl say ask

Oh ok, that makes sense. Are there any other courtesies I should know about besides what is listed above?

There are certain restrictions to capping you want to respect. Generally you don't want to cap inactive players since you can farm their turf for money easier (seeing as they won't fight back)
You also don't want to cap someone out of an area completely if you can avoid it. The more players that are in an area the more money turf in that area makes. Thus if you eliminate enough of the competition, values start to drop.
-
Ok, so is it better not to cap at all or is some capping ok, and is it necessary to ask permission to take their property?
-
Capping is part of the game. Do it if you can, but just don't be a tool about it, ya know?
If someone respectfully asks you to stop I'd say go ahead and comply. If they're rude though, go nuts.
Just basically ask if you'd really care if someone did this to you I guess.
-
That's what I was figuring, and I would even expect some of mine to be taken for it. I do see the benefit though of just overlapping and getting the protection
-
I would just say not to take it personally capping and attacking are all part of the game. However attacking turf is personal. Sometime you come across players that have no idea of any of these rules just simply tell them and move on... Unless they don't quit then it's WAR! Haha
-
Lol yeah I never took it personally but I've come across a couple who have. I have a much better idea of what I should be doing so I'm going to test it out and see how it goes :)

The best thing to do to find out what some of the "self-imposed" rules are is to just keep reading the general discussion forum. Don't comment, just read. Usually you'll read about how someone has done something wrong and paid the price. Watch and learn, and be patient--its the best advice. Also, read EVERYTHING in the help forum. This is a game that accepts no excuses for not knowing the rules.

What's the etiquette in capping. I have had 12 turfs capped by the same player in the last day.
-
Unless you've done something to deserve it, like whine or act childish to the person capping you, that'a a little excessive I'd say. Try talking to them. If that fails, try to get away from them while you mob up. If you've been doing this, and making every effort on your part to resolve the issue, try making a post in the vendetta forums (hint: read mystery's post).

Thanks
