Retire button

This may have been suggested before, but if a player is going to retire there should be a button right next to the Reset button for retirement. It lowers all turf influence down to 84. Gives the retiree a higher chance of his/her turfs of not being capped from actives due to the money it can contribute to surrounding players in need of an extra cash. Just a thought, what do you guys think? 😃

It's a good idea. It would detur capture and make everyone happy.

Hmm interesting idea. Not suggested before. Sounds like a good way for players to take a break and still give something back to the game without being destroyed.
But what happens if say you come back after 6 months and are badly into negative?

Nick forgives the debt, he's even posted that he does that on a case by case basis.
I like the idea. ✊

Then you can kick yourself for not selling your upkeep weapons & armor. 😜 If you want to keep your gear, then don't press the retire button, lol!Hmm interesting idea. Not suggested before. That's not the point of retirement is it though lol. What if upkeep is halved and police protection is frozen, all turf are dropped to 84 inf. that way you're giving something back to the game and can still come back without having to rebuild from scratch. Turf would still be capable. Maybe a 30 day minimum, so once you press you can't play for that duration.Darth Vadan™ wrote:

I like how this is developing and it's a well thought out idea I think this would really work for the game. Maybe add a penalty to anyone that capps retired players? -
Putting a penalty might discourage players from even trying to cap though 😔 I mean I could try laying down 84s all over and make a player think I retired just for the sake of not being capped because of the penalty it could cost him/her.

Very true. No penalty. That's going too far. If they had retired it would make mobbing easier because people would get to know who was active or retired. So getting a better mob acceptanse rate. So think this could be a great idea.👍

Like this a lot!

I'd support this. Sounds like a good way for up and coming players like me to gain more cash in an already established area. The major players in my area no longer play and their territories are at 86, so I have to keep damaging theirs to gain protection until I can get loot upgrades. Great idea

Agreed! 👍👍👍

I'm not sure how I feel about the idea yet. At the very least, I think there should be a 3-6 month minimum, otherwise players would use it to take a little break from the game (rather than truly retire) & hope to avoid getting capped. A short break should not be the same as retirement.
-
Agree. A month of not playing does not necessarily mean you're retiring. It just means you stopped playing for a while. And there are still many retired veteran players who I still see check up on the game every now and then. How about a penalty to the player who retires but decides to play again? Let's say they decide to play again during this minimum X amount of time they should be retired, I mean why say you retire if you decide to play again?
-
Play again = turf upgrades, increase mob, or fight.
-
👍 I like it too!
-
Ok set it to a minimum 90 days.

Here's a wrench, what if I'm going on vaca or have to take a trip for work to a remote area without net? If you need to take a short break you should be able to hit that button and not loose any cash - not gain any either. Ok, maybe you should pay a fee to retire. 10% of your cash? 15%? And your turf goes down 2 pts and you have to pay to get it back to full strength.

That would be a remote location!

Eh.. but there really shouldn't be advantages for players who take short breaks. I mean when you come back from vacation, just mob up and take out the little prick who would ever cap your turfs while in vacation (Isn't that how the game has always been?) All I'm trying to suggest is a button that can benefit retirees and players turfing around them. If you take a short break, just make sure you're strong enough to defend your self, or take back what you lost once you return. Here's a wrench, what if I'm going on vaca or have to take a trip for work to a remote area without net? Retire Mobster
•Lowers all turfs to 84
•Turfs with loot will have 84 influence plus loot influence (Example: A turf with one Bagman will have 85 influence, etc)
•Once retired, player would have no access to game except for News (message), Forums, Get Help, and Top Mobsters for ATLEAST 3 months (could be more, to prevent players from taking advantage if just going on break)
•No Police Protection, but negative income stops at zero, or maybe less? This can help a player get back on track if they decide to return after the minimum time limitI proposed this button to help players who would not mind having that extra cash from leftover turfs from players who do not play anymore; and also not powerful enough to be used as an advantage against attacks. Retirees should still be cappable with no penalty to the attacker since we all know someone will end up taking advantage if there is a penalty. And why would you care if you lose turfs if you decide to retire and not play anymore? Please give your feedback! 👍

Summed it up.
