Pan & Zoom on Turf Placement

One thing that frustrates me sometimes is when I'm placing a turf there is no way to pan or zoom once you hit the place turf button.

I understand that when you touch the map you are specifying where you want the turf placed.

What if the turf placement was triggered in the same way as the buy multiple items. You could pan & zoom during turf placement then hold your finger on a spot for a second or two to place a turf....
