Plane tickets are every 2 weeks, not every week. That's a terrible idea; the game should never automatically destroy your turf. The only airport that's a "problem" is Australia. Either use the social part of the game to go there or go somewhere else. What about setting all airports as neutral zones, hence no capos.
When a player builds a turf at an airport it will stay valid for 8 days I.e 1 day longer than the next air ticket. This will allow a player to hop through an airport or hop into the local neighbourhood. The player can build their turf upto 120+ but will know that they have x days before they either destroy the turf or have it destroyed by "The Don".
This will then free up the airports, making them transit zones only.@Euro - it's harder to plant turf near 1 inf turf then near 86 inf turf.
-
Then how about not making it harder to plant turfs around 1 inf turfs at airports only? Even create a new inf level called Hub. You plant a hub at an airport and it is the size of 1 inf turf since airports are regulated by the gov not private property can be there.
Add a new tab in your player menu called. Hubs and list hub turfs there.
Hubs still cost 1 turf space and cost the same as a fully upgraded turf due to giv taxes on import exports.
Then create a new non common item that can shut down Hubs, something like an import/export licence. These hubs generate no income
-
Turf should always generate income. Players shouldn't be penalized for having turf at an airport. Some people prefer having a couple 1 inf turfs, so it doesn't show up on their profile. They shouldn't have to pay the $3 1/2 mil for an 86 inf turf when they weren't going to upgrade it.

Something does have to be done mystery. Every airport should be open to all or what's the point? And you shouldn't have to use up favors just to use a feature in the gamethe morg wrote:

I completely disagree when it's purposefully done by players. People could use countermeasures to discourage this, like working to cap them out of any other country they are in unless they make room at the airport.

Personal opinion, airports were a great novelty but they killed the truth in "GPS based game". I would say it is the driving force behind the outflow of players we've seen since then, and yes Belial we know you are all for them but regardless of your opinion this game isn't all about you. Maybe had you all out west started competing groups instead of one large group you would have enjoyed it more. No issues on the east coast where blood and lead flow freely.

The current issue under discussion is based on Australia. Unless you live there it's impossible to hop to the airport; you have to fly in.krissharm wrote:

That said I'm starting to see airports as not the best idea. But it in no way has killed the gps. Actually because we have functions for rl locations it has brought more gps into the game. What it has done though is killed the locality. Which even I miss even though ut was so bad for my gameplay

I agree with mystery. In war you can't ask the opposing country to clear a runway because you need to land troops. Why is this any different?Mystery wrote:

But the point vadan is if everyone did this with airports their would be no airports. People shouldn't be allowed to kill am aspect of the game

@B. Well yeah it was strategic, like low inf, but they were exploiting game features in ways not intended. Blockading an airport is in no way different to creating safe zones. It's made and managed by players, not the game feature. If an alliance wants to claim an area, that happens to be a public airport, as their territory, I see nothing wrong. Granted, it will put players like you at a disadvantage, but how you deal with that is down to your strategy.

Soon the alliances will have blocked most airports. The smaller player won't get a chance to travel. Can't fly out. Can't land. I don't have the answers but like B has stated. It's going to get worse. You could ask to be let out/in but whose going to drop a turf that cost so much and also returns so much cash? Three airports now. 😢Mystery wrote:

Reaper I don't think there's an issue with airport entry for smaller/new players. It's known alliance members that are having issues. Going on recent SF posts it seems new players want the convenience of access to an airport, as opposed to entry.

Plenty of people will drop a turf if they have no objections to a player. Hawaii isn't blocked by an alliance. Idk what the 3rd airport is that's blocked. People can hop though if it's not an island with only 1 airport.
