How bout it, perfect for night time or low light mobbing. just a small button somewhere easily accessable.
of course google maps would still come up bright and white, but if all the other screens could have white text on a black backround, sweet! it'd look pretty bad ass too.

Reading White on black background in a dimly lit room would hurt my eyes. But I guess if enough ppl wanted the button it's each to their own to use it.

If you have an iPhone 4 why don't you just inverse to black on white. No need to make it a game feature.

Go to your phone settings➡general➡accessibility➡white on black. You don't need an iPhone 4 or nick to change anything.

You can also set a shortcut. Press home 3 times.

yea i am 4 sure, running 4.2.1 on a 2nd gen iphone 3g, not 3gs or 4

As to triple clicking the home button, make sure that option is enabled in the same place you turn on this feature.
