There's a reason nick made it so you couldn't stack unlimited amounts of turf maps on each other. People would use these during war to escape being capped, rather than just on dead spots. There would need to be some kind of way to allow them to only be used on dead spots. There should also be a distance limitation (maybe a minimum & maximum limit). I don't think a time expiration is a good idea.

Why not? A far distance would be balanced out by a limited time. Otherwise, people would basically be adding roads to Google Maps, and if too many did it, the maps would be crowded and laggy. The minimum is a good idea, though. There's a reason nick made it so you couldn't stack unlimited amounts of turf maps on each other. People hop at different speeds, things can happen to people making them unable to play (like emergencies, lost Internet connections), etc. A time limit could penalize someone for something beyond their control.Mystery wrote:

@Mystery Sadly, though, that's not the game's job ---- there's really no way around it. Permanent road = easy hopping for everyone. Timed road = controlled hopping. What you said is true, but, as with many aspects of life, it couldn't be fair for everyone. However, the time could be longer depending on the player.

There's no reason it needs to be time-dependent though. what other loot would need it . it would be time dependent so you couldnt permenently altor the map. it would be a temporary help. (sorry for the spelling)

You aren't permenantly altering the map since only you can use it. You can only use it for 1 turf. what if u need to hop farther than one turf maybe 3 maybe 4 or maybe 2 haha. but for sure no more than 5! if they put them in the same spot at the same time then it wouldbe in the same spot for them. what else?

I should have said 2 since you are hopping. That's why using this for hopping doesn't really make sense though. You only need one turf to reach the end of the dead spot. So if you used 5 to hop, I guess the others would automatically be torn down? That could be a problem if there is loot on them.what if u need to hop farther than one turf maybe 3 maybe 4 or maybe 2 haha. but for sure no more than 5! if they put them in the same spot at the same time then it wouldbe in the same spot for them. what else?
You can't have 2 players plant turf in the exact same spot. Depending on the width ect, this could cause problems for people.

How about their private, but everyone could see them on the map, and they could be capped like turf. Also, it's like a smaller version of airports. I think this could help a lot with hopping.

You'd have to have one right next to one already there to be close enough to cap someone in the middle of a dead spot. It wouldn't make a lot of sense either. If you equipped it to a turf it would work better, but you need at least 2 to hop. So I don't see how this fits in with any existing game structures. How about their private, but everyone could see them on the map, and they could be capped like turf. I'm surprised this idea has received this much attention.

There are still plenty of deadspots out there. And nick doesn't have the capability to fix them allNo. 1) Water turf is illegal. Nick made airports to cross oceans. 2) If nick wanted to/could do this, he would have gone & "fixed" all the dead spots already. There are far less dead spots then there used to be! 3) If he wanted something like this, he would have made maps available in the market & made it so you could stack even more. 4) There isn't a point to going places that don't have roads recognized by the geocoder.

this would fix them though at least where people want to hop

Maybe he didnt nail it- but admit it something has to be done. Geochaching errors or gaps are nowhere near acceptable. Ive spent thousands of don points just map mining. Not good. I should get paid 100$ an hour for "difficult" hopping😜
