Community service

Yes, I'm dead serious. I'd like to see missions that amount to doing community service. Me, I'd like to do them out of the goodness of my heart, but for the rest of you, there's a practical reason as well - positive PR, or, as I'd like to put it, negative risk. That is, "community service" missions would actually REDUCE the emnity of the police towards you, thusly reducing police protection costs (and police bribe deductions from turfs) and making the police less likely to bust you for the... nastier missions (like, say, bribing a jury.) However, it's not like community service wouldn't have downsides. Compared to the more... criminal missions, the take for community service missions would be rather low, and the energy costs would be rather high. Perhaps they'd also have lower experience rewards and have high tool and mob-size requirements, but that just makes them really unappealing. Still, being able to get the police off your back by doing good deeds would be a pretty cool shtick.

Interesing idea. I like the idea of having missions that actually influence the rest of the game.

Hm? All I can think of in terms of advantages is improving police relations (as well as maybe a good chance of getting some loot items like riot shields and title deeds. Of course, getting... disturbing loot items like cement shoes, horse heads, and car bombs would be out of the question.)

What I was trying to say was "I think this is a great idea because it makes missions have more influence on the rest of the game. Then, at least people would have to choose between lots of XP (first mission), loot (bank safe), or better police relations (your community service)". I think the more options, the better.
In fact, you could go a step further and add things like "martial arts training" for a slight attack boost, "self defense class" for a slight defense boost, or all sorts of ideas.
Even if my comments/suggestions suck, I still like your idea :-)

O_o; Actually, that's kinda awesome. And you're forgetting about getting money from missions. I've heard that the Ransom mission is the most energy-efficient for money, but I'm not sure.

What a twist, great idea.

This is very good. That way I wouldn't constantly be buying police protection. 😋

It's tied with Purse Snatching for energy efficiency for exp, but Ransom is definitely more money-efficient.

I'm still a fan of this idea! Missions could use another reason to be done, just hopping for loot and never getting it gets old... I'd put my energy into some community service. Maybe half and half.

A mission that does something other than make Noobs seem dumb because they are level 50 with under 50 mob. Gangs in real life sometimes do community service to win public support so it makes sense.
