3-5 slots that you can put items into for well, quick use. They appear when you attack someone. Items that can be put in are things you can use on yourself. For ex. Espresso, medikit, Armor piercing rounds....

It takes me no more than 6-7 seconds between hits to refill. Is this really needed?

Its helpful. It's not needed. Almost none of these suggestions are needed.
