Capture turf @ your location

Just a thought, it would be cool if you could capture turf where you are on the map instead of your turf having to be a stones throw away. Instead of a ring dependent of your inf, a set radius around your location. Your ring would have to be at least touching the middle of their turf in order for you to try and capture it. Maybe limit this to one remote location capture per week, or for x don points.

Would you have to stand in proximity to the turf for 24 hours though? I see that you try and address that with the idea of one capture a week using that method. Would definitely add a twist to the game...there are a couple of places I would drive to cap a turf.
Another idea that I've stated before somewhere, I think it would be cool if you got a bonus to att/def if you were physically in the proximity of an attack.

Interesting thought...would add a new aspect to the game...you would be able to do ninja assault on someone without the 24 hour rule that a normal turf has to be in place. I really like this idea!

No you wouldn't have to stand there for 24hrs, as above there would be a limit on how many you could capture in a week to stop bullying.
If this gives big players too much advantage maybe limit the "remote capture" to 5 remote captures per town. Also with a remote capture you cannot capture turfs nearby until a set time has pasted. (I'd recommend more than 24hrs) -
It's a great idea. But it needs to have the 24 hour rule to be fair.
Maybe you could cap one turf per player immediately. After that, standard capture rules go into effect, starting with the 24 hour rule.

Good idea in theory. Except all the people who play using wifi on their iPod touch would quit. There goes a lot of potential revenue. Not gonna happen. 👎

If a player knew precisely which turf was being targeted, couldn't they just drop that one turf to zero to thwart the attack?
I kind of enjoy throwing up a turf next to someone and watching all the panicked PM's pop up.

The 24 hr rule isn't possible with this suggestion because no one is going to stay in an area for a given time just to attack a turf...maybe a good idea for this isn't to capture a turf but destroy it instead (like in a vendetta but doing a solo ninja attack)...any thoughts?

You don't need to be there for 24 hours. Show up, capture, go on about your merry way. It's really no different than placing a turf. Instead of building/spending your own money, you cap. THEN it's 24 hours before that turf goes on a capping spree.

This is actually how I thought the game worked when I first started playing. I drove for 30 minutes to capture some turfs and figured out that I couldn't! This was well before the checklist. I think it would be a great addition to the game to not have to place a turf and may ease the turf limit problem.

This would break from the 24 hour rule and u could wake up and all your turf is gone by someone who took a TW road trip.

Upon thinking about it, screw the radius idea. If you can position yourself to be within the turf, you should be able to capture.
And double money for attacks.

I'm going to say I'm not a fan of this original idea. I kind of like how (most) people have main focus areas of influence and if you want to break into that area then that involves some effort and travel to establish a base there.

Thought of a way this could be implemented while hopefully not being overpowered. There could be a thing we buy with DoN points called an "outpost" or something. You would pay X points to put down an oupost at your current gps location. It acts as a turf for purposes of attacking other turf, it would not generate income or influence, and it would expire after a certain amount of time...?

Capture with "current location" would b very nice (some people are WAY over limit) so can't build anymore :/

I meant to say CAPTURE turf not simply attack it. The potential here would be that (for a price) you could cap turfs in new areas even if you are over your limit, but you'd have to physically be there, it would cost you, and you'd have limited time... But I digress; I don't mean to hijack the thread, my apologies. -
