Player moderators??

Maybe people to clean up stuff on wrong forums or major shit a report to nick button for 'em but no direct powers. Too easily abused.

I've never seen user moderators work out well. Eventually one mod will decide that everyone else will be held to their personal standards. Other mods start applying the rules as they deem nessesary to enforce their ideal of the game. Shortly after this people begin to faction up around the different mods. It's happened before and will happen again

Bad idea. Most players will most likely abuse this role, without even being aware they are doing so. An example would be bias judgement on threads selected to be deleted. Power to the people will only bring the system down.

Who would be selected these roles and how would they be selected? I can alreay see the "popular" and top posters electing themselves. I like many others read every thread but for the most part aren't likely to leave a bias post in every thread. For Unmaker's point, perhaps make the Mods unknown to others. Also how do you create a Mod with no power and expect him to Mod?

and the mod can select a thread for deletion but decision is nicks

Can create a nominations thread, cause not everyone will vote for themselves...take the top three nominees and hold a vote.
