Balancing the game
Forums › Suggestions & Feedback › Balancing the game-
I think turf wars is great; but like many ppl has proposed, the game has lost the balance because how strong u are, is simply reflected by how many mobs u hv. So i think nick can balance the game by following wt the other mob games has been doing. First how many mobs u can use is subject to ur lv. Second atk and def is a small multiplyer. With this changes, first gaining lv is important, and then it creates more uncertainty when fighting the others. Lastly I think how many mobs a lv can use can be relative to how mamy codes we hv in those databanks, now we hv approximately 3000 codes and the top playets are 80 lv something, so by gaining 1 lv u can use 25 to 30 more mobs.

Very bad idea.level not meaning much is what gives new players a chance. As the system is all u have to do is mob up to beat someone stronger. Mobbing up is easy leveling up however takes alot longer
-
I notice also ur system would still allow u the full use of ur mob. Whereas it would take me about a month or longer to regain the full use of mine
-
The problem we are facing now is besodes mob number, nothing is important. Well do u hv better idea in bal the game?
-
U r correct MoMo. Mob is the only factor in this game that decides whether u can kick someone's ass or not. And the difficulty of adding mob is quite high. Y not have the option In someone's profile to invite them.... Or at least show there mob code on their profile. Y would it be a secret? Also, just like mafia wars, when u enter a mob code, y not just have it auto accept.... If a person doesn't want someone I'm their mob for some reason, they can always find them and take them off and even put them on an ignore list where they won't be invited back. Not sure y someone would take a mob off their list though.
-
That is the ONLY good thing about mafia wars btw. And I'm starting to think that these mob codes r made so damn dificult to build up that this is the way the developers designed the game to be. Having to go to outside websites to get codes, skimming thru all the crap on the "Invite Code" forums. I've spent hours upon hours putting in mob codes to sit and wait for a few hundred to accept that probably never will. Once newer players catch on to this, they will drop this gam in a heartbeat. I'm still here though and I have 2300 mob, but that's just b/c I'm a persistent little bastard. I will never catch up to the 3000 mob guys though. They have alot of innactive players on their list that quit before I started playing.

Window... I agree auto accept is a good thing ... But consider turf wars' strategy is too straight forward... Wt is the fun when ever body has 2500 mobs? The game then become onvitation war... I believe vendetta is suppose to solve the problem ... But as we can see the most serious setback of the game is it is just abt mob no... By making atk and def counts ... At least we can never sure whether we can win or not and it is part of the fun of online game ... Now everythings are so blunt... It becomes a sure thing when u atk or def ... In reality no is not everthing and i believe the same theory can be applued here...
-
You are forgetting that number isn't everything. There is also a significant random factor in fights
-
For instance???

When i play imob... I enjoy much in leveling up my character... Bevause every lv up means I am stronger.. Because atk/def is a multiplyer and my lv limits how many mobs I can use ... In turf wars... I dont want to lv up because it is basically meaningless... I can be protected by the don for staying low... Turf wars is clever in making use of the gps system ... But the tatic is too straight foward... The game become invitation war ... And it is sad...
-
I do agree with u to a point. Mob limits based on level would have been a good thing. But it's too late in the game. Such limits now would eliminate hours if hard work that many of is have put into mobbing up. Who wants to see all their hard work wasted
-
So it is just a suggestion... The pt is we need some bal bad... There is a string between old and new players ... We are stuck if we just concern the no of mobs ... The game will be so much fun when win/lost is not purely detetmined by mob no ... Just like on imob ... I can beat a guy even I hv fewer mobs because I put every pt to atk... As a new player I also hv spent both time amd money on the game ... I purchased all the pt package ... Buy an ad on 2 web page and I hv invite every code I find on those website ... Vendentta is a good start ... But we need more than that ...
-
Momo you're so right
-
I really hope things can change

If you have have a mob of 1000, then you should only be able to own 1000 armor, and 1000 weapons. Not 1000 each, of two different guns. This forces players to chose between higher att, or higher def. This would be a good start.
Basing it on level just creates the same problem. And, it's just too late to make att/def points a multiplier. This topic has been around for a long time. Started by Tom Hagen I believe. My above idea, with his idea of a new armor and/or weapon with offset attributes would level things out a great deal.
I'm sure Nick is working, or thinking of something. I'm also sure he's tired of reading about this. Like most of us.
-
From what I'm reading you want to turn this game into all the other mafia games I quit playing them because they were shit and started turf wars because it was so different and so much better and more challenging if that's what you want to do go play one of those other mafia games and stop complaining here I think the games nearly perfect
-
Nearly, Yes. It is the best. That's for damn sure.
-
I think this is a suggestion page.. Is it ? Do u guys hv better alternatives? It is never too late to change make a change, thimgs are too simple in this game and it becomes invitation war not turf wars. If u guys think multiplyer is not a good idea, I believe other vaiables canaffect the result of the fight, for instace the don is randomly favoring some ppl and offer help and so on.
-
And I agree with another player's saying that if atk and def is used like this, Nick better del that for it is basically useless. Maybe nick can do sth like, U can change u tatic/mode which in different mode u enjoy different bones like as a wiseman u enjoy 25% of def, a muscle increase ur atk for 25%. And I agree the game is great, but can u guys sincerely believe there cant be any improvement?
-
What about people who WOULD have put all of their points into att/def, if they had known it was a multiplier, but now they are level 80 already and those points are gone, and it takes longer and longer to level up to get more now.
Meanwhile new players are dumping ALL of their points into the multiplier and in the long run will have an extreme advantage.
Since it really isn't that hard to go through one of the code sites(I stand by www.invitecodematrix.com ) and mob up quickly, those players will have the advantage of a large mob, AND the multiplier, while it's too late for some to get that high multiplier.
Many of us made the mistake of dumping some points into att/def, including me. Deal with it. I agree we need balance, but don't believe this change would help anything.
And I think most of us are tired of hearing newer players talk about it. -
i beg to differ.. I hv invite all more than 2500 codes and u can see my mob no ... To be honest do u hv better option??We all know there are practical problems for update but I am not just thinking abt balancing and it is making the game more interesting... Changes always disturb player who are comfort with how they are ... Wt I am suggesting ... I believe is good for the development of the game ... It is more challenging and tatical ... And most important it is not an idealistic idea that request Nick to write the codes all over again... So it is simple and workable... Maybe wt u are worry is that in long runnew players will become too powerful than the old players... But like it or not an easier set up is a way to attract more player to join the game ... And I believe it is for the big picture...

I'll make it simple all mob die one day ! I say once you reach level humm I duno 80 let's say you die and get to start over whith a gold account whith offence or defence bonus

that makes thing easy then just don't level up! Easy enough don't do missions only attack those whoare way weaker than you and this wouldn't be a problem. But seriously why would you want to cap it at 80? Anyone in beta saw level 100. The whole thing just doesn't sound fair to the high levelsI'll make it simple all mob die one day ! Funny how players with high mob say it's perfect, and for certain they would not say that if they only started recently.
-
True...
-
I hve been saying this ame is perfect and I been playing for only a few weeks
i was being beaten to a pulp on this spending all my time in the er
still said it was amazingand now I big
your ideas just punish players that are loyal and give handouts to ppl who are to whiney to stick thru it
