I noticed there's times when people fall into the red... Sometimes it's hard to sell weapons and whatnot...
So I think there should be something to settle debts/ negative incomes/money, it would remove a few things from you...mobsters...turf...or something along said lines. Not a fully developed idea, bug I'm confident that competent players like GOW or Mr ikslopot can mature this idea.

Maybe a loan shark that attacks and sends you to the ER if unpaid after a designated time.
-
Better. Once in a lifetime you can ask the don for help. Only costs 5 don points and negative is totally erased. But income is cut in half for an entire week as repayment for the don's help
-
Better yet it takes all your assets and you go down a level.

More realistic, but where does that leave you?Better yet it takes all your assets and you go down a level.
I think GOW has the right idea, but the cost of Don points and or amount of time your income is sliced/ amount of time it's sliced should depend on how much your in debt.

I think you should lose all but the oldest turf you planted (that's still in your possession), but it's influence is decreased to 1. You lose all weapons but 1 shank, and you lose all loot & tools. Your exp is set to the beginning of your current level (going down a level would actually benefit them). (If you took everything then they wouldn't be able to get enough money to play again - doesn't the first mission require a shank?) The cost: 10 don points.

@ baron
What's the point in paying don points then? You lose everything but keep your debt? How can you run missions without cash?(need a weapon to run a mission.) How can you build turf without cash?I agree with mystery
-
You should a turf or two but I think that enless you went by the idea that you can only do it say once then I guess eliminating your debt would be fine.
-
Basically, everything except your mob and purchased turf limit is reset - level, turf, stats... the works. You're given just enough money to drop a turf or 2. Say 10m. It'd be better than completely reseting and losing the time and effort spent mobbing up, would encourage players to stay and start again.
-
Losing all your turf? Not a good idea... You can't get anything... And going back a level? So I can just jump back and forth in levels then, no sweat.

Personally, I believe the following arrangement would be optimal (mostly follows Mystery's suggestion):
You keep: Level
Mob
Stats
Turf limits
Turfs you've planted yourself - not everyone would want to fly around to replant turfsBasically, things that require substantial real life investment that can't be replaced with in game cash should be kept.
You lose: All your debt - cash set to zero
All weapons/inventory (yes, even your friend at Goldman Sachs)
All turf upgrades (all your remaining turfs are reset to 1 influence)
All capped turfs - since they're not yours to begin with anywayRestrictions 90 day cooldown - arbitrary period to prevent abuse, as I think a once-per-lifetime restriction is excessive

☝ not bad, 90 days way to much. I'd quit.
-
I disagree. Way too much loss. Essentially by that point you may as well just reset anyway. With no weapons or cash you'd be defenseless. With turf at 1 inf you wouldn't be making enough cash to come back and since they would probably be swamped with protection you'd likely be right back in negative. It wouldn't solve a thing.
-
Plus why would you take away capped turf? So you lose all your hard work? Nope I don't know anyone that would do it.

This spuds like good way to incorporate, basically strip them down to how they was at beginning ,except u allow them to keep the oldest turf and only there turf limit? Or reduce them down to 1 turf and they have to go thru levels again to obtain higher turf limitI think you should lose all but the oldest turf you planted (that's still in your possession), but it's influence is decreased to 1. Let's not forget the whole point of bankruptcy is to liquidate assets to pay debt.

Yeah. But if you take away too much you're leaving them open to get right back into debt. And most of the suggestions I've seen would leave it so a big player would take months if even possible to get back into the game.Let's not forget the whole point of bankruptcy is to liquidate assets to pay debt.

Or maybe increas the amount of money you get when you buy money with don points. I'm not rich but I'm not broke eathier and I can only get like 40k if I bought money

Well no, not really because ur losing weapons which is the only upkeep that will get you in to negative in the first place. I think the idea stands, lose everything (maybe to the value of your debt) but your mob and be given just enough money to start you off again. All it takes is 1 turf to build and expand from, as you expand you start to arm your mob. You're only gonna go negative if you bollocks it up a second time in which case you might as well reset.VADAN wrote:
