Temp Codes
Forums › Suggestions & Feedback › Temp Codes-
it's my understanding that temp codes are not issued for every signup but only after certain conditions are met. I kind of understand how this would ensure that the codes that do get created are for "guaranteed" active players, but that would be assuming there is no value in creating a code immediately for every new signup and I don't really agree with that. It seems to me that if every new signup got the same opportunity at starting off with a nice mob maybe more would stay in the game. this seems like it would be good for everyone involved, tw community and tw's bank account. if i'm wrong about the temp code creation then please disregard this posting.

A lot of us complained that there were too many codes so filters were put up. 400 codes a day was just too much. No one had time to play
-
Interesting. No one has to punch them all. The filters should come down.

If temps came out as ppl signed up I don't think it'd b an issue. You'd have 7 days to punch each temp.
-
Seriously. Do you really want to pinch temps with a 5%. Acceptance? That's how it was.
-
can i get a separate site or form with the 400/day? doesn't seem fair to those that find it doable. 50-100 isn't doable for some people doesn't mean it should be cut down to accommodate them.

yes i've seen theme expire pretty quickly once we get them on twdb. not every time but some are quick. why the delay? why not post them as soon as they come out?
-
If they were released at all I'd have to do them as I desperately need mob. But with that volume there goes playing or hopping ever again.

not giving out temps to every sign up already does that, no need for a delay on the temps that are created.⚡Deicide⚡ wrote:

400/day... it's it's really that, is not a hard task. maybe 30min a day punching codes could be done in the morning or night or whenever. and nobody HAS to punch them, the same way they don't do them now. actually it might give some people a the slight edge over others and a possibility or dream of catching up to some of the bigger players. anything to keep the dream alive :). and it's a fair implementation.
-
It wont work because of that proprietary information. Thats a big reason for filters. In the old days we had a losser filter. But there will always be one.
-
plenty of companies post their stats. unless they are lying it's no reason to hide the number of signups. the number of signups is already reflected when temp numbers go up and down so we know when it is there is a bad day or week. that information is not that sensitive. i concede i have do not fully understand the ins and outs of the business aspect of tw, but it would seem you would only do that to hide some sort of financial information, which can already not be obtained just from knowing the number of signups.
-
Well. If the filters were removed, I sure as hell would punch them all. I did originally. Would do so again. Nothing wrong with being given the chance, I think. And as I recall, the punching prior to filters wasn't crippling. And as always...no ones standing over you forcing you to do it. Lots of ways to stay competitive. Punch regular code, buy hench, or simply use vendettas to get the job done--I believe that's the usual argument when someone cries out that there's too much to code punching.

30 mins doesn't seem that much time to spend punching codes. and if someone else is more dedicated and can spend more time playing the game shouldn't they be rewarded also? agian i have a keyboard so that might seem unfair, but i bought it just for this game, and those that spend money on keyboards or henchmen or turf, or more time doing codes... should be rewarded and not held back because others can't punch the same number of codes.Belial wrote:

The only "filtering" I know of is what Nick said about how temps are generated.
He said the server pulls a random numbe of temp codes from each day's batch to ne released. And thst it was done to hide signup numbers. So theoretically, it is possible tat every temp code is being released. And that would explain why some codes have more time than others remaining.
And it seems to me that ALL codes would be released to make it as fair as possible under that circumstance.

And the object of the game is not to become #1 on the mob list.
Of you don't have time to play the game because you're too busy punching codes, then
You are missing out and deriving yourself of the fun of the game.Being #2 or #13 or not even being on the leader boards at all (Im not on them)is not a sign of weakness.
And anyone who doubts that-feel free to come and see me for a smackdown. I'll be happy to show you how weak I am.

i agree. if you don't have time to punch codes then don't, just play the game. CC says.. you don't have to be on the leaderboards to play the game. but the codes should still be there for the people who do have the time to do them. And the object of the game is not to become #1 on the mob list.

this is understandable. but if all the codes are being released just at a different time i don't understand how that is hiding signup numbers. maybe messing with daily signups but not overall signups and what would be the purpose of just hiding daily signups? The only "filtering" I know of is what Nick said about how temps are generated.

Well it hides them in the fact that it will take some work to figure out. And aa they expire, they disappear.
So it ispossible to figure it out, but who wants to go through the effort? And for what?
-
Belial are you arguing from an alternative perspective? Of all people you are the last to need to worry about someone else becoming too powerful. You have stated you have printed list of old codes so you don't miss any resets, I'm sure you get less than 5% return there. I find it hard to believe you spend less than 3hrs a day punching if you are infact re-punching. And trust me you don't "desperately" need shit in this game.
So is it sarcasm?

I though belial is the owner?

If every player is possibly assigned a temp in the long run...why--when I only miss at most one or two temps a week--are there so many regular codes in the DB that obviously weren't accounted for by my temp punching? I think that's where this discussion originated. Some of us are rather obsessive punchers and can see a discrepancy somewhere and it doesn't make sense.

I am desperate. Truly a state of being in which my life was intended to be lived. Will punch for food

Good question.
The only thing I can think of right now is that the horseradish roast beef sandwich i just had at this new deli was freakin' awesome.
