I like this whole idea and it would really add to the game. Also the idea of assigning mob members would also be great.
Ps: who's nick?? -
I also agree with marbles

Yeah butThe Sid mieres version you sent your caravan and if the passage was safe ie not through too many enemy territories the send got cash and the recievier took a percentage. The enemy turfs would get all the cash if they intercepted it. Simple quick effectient
1) they have to know of it... If I have a turf in Toronto and Detroit and I send 5M worth of goods and None of the goods are received and some hapless noob in upper wisonson wakes up one day with a MASSIVE bonus is unfair.2) how would intercepting work?
3) What defines unsafe territory here? 80% of earth isn't owned by anyone
4) I hate Civ V
Can't make it for macs..!? -
Wow guys. Thanks for the support and ideas. I wouldn't have thought up of some of these things! Intercepting sound like a good idea, but I don't know how it'll work...
-
Just an idea... News update informing a random player of a random turf on your shipments route informing them that there may be some intel regarding a lucrative opportunity. The player (if awake or active) could pay a hefty price (don points, item, money, whatever) for said intel then could commit further resources to attempt a hijacking.
Could be limited to players of a certain level. Maybe a turf add-on that could detect shipments and start the news process.
Several conditions to make a hijacking less likely but still possible.
-
I think the turf upgrade (allowed at say level 50) would fix the issue of low level players being able to participate in hijackings. and a shipment that size should cost a lot of resources to intercept.
-
Peetie, I like that idea of a loot add on to help intercept the info. I agree that this should be higher level players doing this. I believe the hefty price should be a hard fight to get the shipment.
-
Just throwing this out there but if your going to give loot as a prize and no mile limit let's encourage cross border trading
Each country would have it's own rare loot weapon
North America ??
South America ??
Africa ??
Europe ??
Asia ??
Russia ?? -
I decided to bring this idea back up, in the hope more people will respond and give feedback.

Great idea 👍👍👍

This adds another element to the game, and I believe with some work, planing, and rules, it should be added.
-
I love the idea and support it 100%.

You guys don't know how long and hard (yes that's what she said. But ima girl so it don't matter) it would take for the deva to do this you know its not like they can pull an update like this right out there ass I mean this can take months to finish and is it Rly worth it to spend months doing nothing but this update?
-
Love the idea! Think it would work well in this game. Kinda what mobsters did anyway right?
-
👍👍👍 like the general idea

If you have to commit a part of your mob to the shipment so they are temp unavailable for fights then if someone tries to attack they have to commit part if their mob for say 24 hours without knowing how big your protection force is. The caravan could have a base defense factor. This also lets balsy smaller players to commit all of their mob to attack, but would have to hope nobody saw and attacked him while his mob was away.
