A Thought About Mob Sizes
Forums › Suggestions & Feedback › A Thought About Mob Sizes-
For what it is worth, the biggest problem I see threatening new players is not so much the mob discrepancy, but how some big mobsters use their superior mobs. Let's use the "mob up or shut up" saying as an example. It's usually used when a smaller mob player is complaining about the attacks or capping from bigger mob players. Fortunately, when big mob players cap those much smaller they do not act like Ed Shooter and exterminate others, but on a regular basis many of these mobsters take chunks and chunks of turf, using as excuses things like, "You had a union boss near me and you should have not put it near me.". What is that small 800-2000 mob player to do?

Krueger says the small player can form a vendetta. So the small player does and gets just enough people crazy enough to take on the big mobster. However, that big mobster most likely is tactically sound and breaks the vendetta by using his superior stamina to Er his opponents one by one. Or to make it easier on himself, he just asks for help from his friends who, more often than not, have huge mobs as well and destroy every person in the vendetta. What is that smaller person to do if they did nothing other than own turf that bordered a person with a large mob who takes it at will and tells them to stop whining? Unfortunately, this causes these small players to quit the game because they have no chance to catch these big mob players. I see this time and time again in the vendetta forums and, unfortunately, this culture not conducive to new players hurts the game. Instead of speaking out about it, we get mobsters creating threads like Turf Huggers Anonymous.

What a thought provoking suggestion Matt! Heh heh, couple of days back & already stirring the pot eh?
The rate that noobs gaining mob have also skyrocketed as compared from the beginning. Sure it's intimidating for a noob but isn't it on any game?
Code punching has always been the key to this game tho. And changing it to me is like taking away the GPS factor of this game which makes it different to others. Sure there will be Ppl who don't mind, some who like to & yet even more others who hate it but it's really a choice that we all make. How does one sustain the mob that one has, well isn't it a personal choice? We could really debate all day about what's right in our opinion or what should be done but thing is how could anyone besides the developer know what direction to bring this game? I would just leave things as they are cuz players are smart enough to figure it out at some point & if they don't well, they'll stay put or move on.
In the meantime, enjoy the game the way one sees fit. Game on!

I already posted my rant on the other thread. I do not think a higher value should be put on henchmen! I realize it's good for business, but plenty of people can't afford them, whereas time is free.⚡Deicide⚡ wrote:
This is a completely valid argument, but it assumes a perfect world where nobody misses a code, everyone gets that early invite from the player who soon quits (granted under my concept that number will disappear, but only after some amount of time)...this puts a higher value on henchmen (which is good for business), and makes the temp codes extremely important.i understand the concept in theory but believe belial is correct about the stalemate. because soon everyone will have the same number of actives... it's an eventuality. everyone becomes number 1.

@Rckningday - most of what I see in the V forum is fairly new, small players whining because they were attacked or capped from someone about their same size or only slightly larger. It is extremely rare to see posts from them whining because a top mobster capped them. In fact, the 10% rule usually prevents this. Besides, most of the big mobsters I know don't go around taking chunks from small players. I will say that if someone only has around 2,000 (or less) mob at level 50 & above then I wouldn't feel sorry for them.
