New weapon slot?

Ok, this is the idea: on top of 1 armour/shield and 1 weapon, your mob members will be able to use 1 close combat weapon, like the shank, brass knuckles or german stiletto, i don't add the chainsaw because this suggestion is to make the german stiletto knife more useful, since you will be most likely to get it after you have totally no use for them, and the chainsaw is wielded with 2 hands(most times).

Meh. I don't see the point of allowing another weapon. Plus it detracts from realism. If your mob is busy firing their tomes their knives aren't going to matter

It doesn't matter what other games do. They aren't this game. COD is more military/combat style, so that weapon combo makes sense.
Mobs shoot and run or cut and. They almost never do both.

I don't see a realism issue. A knife is always handy. The thing is, there will always be another slot to be added. Vehicles, sidearm, grenades could be separate, booby traps, turf artillery, alian spaceship help. Adding a separate sidearm/knife category wouldn't make any difference to the gameplay. It would just be one more thing to buy for all my Rambo mobsters.

And it would drastically improve the usefullness of stiletto's, which is currently -2 because it takes up a rare loot "spot".
