But if your locality is crap such as mine you're out of luckI think this is a great idea. It really re-establishes your GPS location as being central to the game & also brings an additional layer of complexity to the game. Projecting power 2000+ miles away should be more taxing on your resources than locally!

I saw two major cities very close amd a third minor. I don't have turf in my home city. So you have no way knowing where how much turf or how far it is from a lot of turf. Put it this way. There are a total of 10 turf from 3 players in my home city. One of which is active. I have one major city 28 miles away. The next one is sandiego at 100 miles away. After that it's norcal. 380 miles + away. This is my best hope for good gameplay. Next is washigton. Even better but 900 miles away.

Your locality is fine. What is around you in a 100 mile radius?

You think yours is bad? If I go 50 miles in any direction, I end up at least 10 miles off shore. And I ain't complaining. In fact, I wholeheartedly support this.

So you have 2 major cities within a 100 mile radius, you are actualy in a better position than me,my home town is 100 miles from the nearest and then 200 miles after that but niether of us would be effected that much if it were to start at 250 and 250 miles takes me into an enitirely different country btw.

Why would you want an upgrade that would make ou weaker? It doesn't make any sense.

Sometimes you have to just not make friends. It IS a WAR game.

It's not about making oneself weaker. It's about adding excitement to the game. Making it more realistic.
If it makes me weaker, then I just have to try harder.

Had no real choice. LA on the early days. But the solution is of course to expand to new areas where I can find enemies that I haven't wiped out yet. This would make that impractical.

But why would someone want to get up and go somewhere just to be stronger in a fight. I think the gps we have right now is fine. And the game doesn't need to realistic. It's the complete opposite of reallistic now. In real life would you have 15000 mobsters following you around?LIONFURY wrote:

You overlook the simple fact that you have put yourself in this situation but choosing not to play against those that are near you and by choosing to don point your way to a powerful position. If this truly impacted you, I suppose you could just don point yourself enough henchmen to compensate for the distance penalty. (in fact I'd be willing to bet real money that is exactly what you'd do...) you seem to have bought just enough henchmen to insulate you from the next biggest mobs. I can't see any reason why you wouldn't handle this challenge in the same manner.

I'm completely with belial on this one. I attack alot of far away players and this would just piss me off if I couldn't beat some player that I had always been able to beat before. Im not going to stick to players close to me because I can't beat them (yet lol). And players close to me are only about 10 or 11. That would get boring. Overall people would get more annoyed than pleased with this. I haven't really been punching any codes (in going to start now lol) but if I puched 4000 codes and couldnt beat a smaller mob just because it's far away I would be mad.

Well no offense meant lion, but you only have 18 turf. I suggest that you haven't really experienced much in this game yet. The biggest problem on the upper ranks is boredom. I had more but they got capped. And yes it would make a difference because I attack people far away

And boredom wouldnt be an issue if upper ranks didn't buy so much don points

I think this geared more towards capping also. Not just mob to mob combat.
The point of a location based game is to play, fight, defend, conquer your area.
If you did that, and want to move to other areas, gameplay needs to become more challenging.

And rural areas would suffer more than populated, but guess what? This gives rural areas a better chance to fend off big city invaders.
And the game is just barely a year old. It needs to evolve as it grows and ages. In the early days, everywhere was rural.
Sure, there were a couple instant dense populations...but again...the appeal of this game, and what set it apart from all the others was and still is, the location based factor.

No problem. Now look at areas that are 200 miles away from you. Can you find opponents turf within that range that you could try capping from if you walked turf over there? If so then this wouldn't affect you at all...Jim Dirt (Add A1) wrote:

I don't see what NY would be getting. And no one is getting screwed.
