About respect point purchases

So I just bought some extra turf via respect points and I can't place it down, I've tried restarting the game and refreshing it, am I missing anything here? Help would be welcome!

Looks like you capped some earlier. You might still be at limit. You have to have one less turf than limit to plant. 49/50 for example.

I thought if you bought them with respect points you would be able to go over?

If you cap over your turf limit you either have to tear them till you are under or buy enought turf to have one free.

You didn't waste them. You increased your turf limit. The only waste is if you capped turf that don't make good income. If that's the case tear them down and plant somewhere else.

Not a waste unless you expect to stay over limit forever. No sense in your position. 8 cities isn't a great starting point to be over limit.
