Turf timers already removed a layer of the "fog of war", there are numerous aspects of fighting this would be detrimental to.
And how would vendettas work? Targetted players would see the adjusted range at that moment? What happens when a member of the V leaves? Or an even bigger player joins the V? If you are a smaller member in a V and looking at your own range, do you see the adjusted range your targets have or just the range non-targets have?

"The new geocoder is based on a snapshot of data from OpenStreetMap, an open-source mapping dataset that anyone can edit."
Are you fucking me? This is the stupidest thing you have done since reduceing the cost to plant or cap skill, both equally awful.
So what you're saying, I can go to the Wikipedia type map system you will be using and edit the map however I like. Sick! Can you add an auto cap/plant feature next? I would just love it if I could go on vacation for a week but if I pay 100 DP my profile will automatically spam 100 turf a day for me whoever I want😄 (Sarcasm) -
Don't worry guys, I'll add an opening for us to all spoof and drop turf in Antarctica finally. 👍🏻
-
It's a snapshot, so if you edit it, whoever is in charge of editing and confirming changes made to the map would probably catch the trail to Antarctica before it happens. Oh and the range idea is 👎🏾

So, is someone or some group had an influence over whoever is in charge of editing and confirming changes made to the map, it's not impossible that someone could change the map to benefit one or more players and in turn directly negatively effect one or more other players. Hey, how about we add a skill the reduces the range of a players turf by 50%. That way we can further divide the player base and continue to grow the community. Oh, wait.

Nooooooooooo!!!!!

I like how there is masses/clusters of turf over water in some areas. I can't build anywhere near them, not even in the tiny gaps between those turf. Fishy.〓DUAIR〓🎀 wrote:

That's just a result of past map updates when the geocoders let you plant almost anywhere.I like how there is masses/clusters of turf over water in some areas. I can't build anywhere near them, not even in the tiny gaps between those turf. Fishy.

Why don't you add a block user button to stop all the crybabies from sending in tickets about people communicating with them.

Nick to Nick - useful shit don't pay the bills. Add another 250 points to cap skill, for a 100% decrease of range!

Thank you everyone for the detailed feedback, both in this thread and via Feedback!
Based on the responses, it's pretty clear that many of you think of showing Capture Range on the Map as oversimplifying a big part of combat, which is totally understandable.
However, there does seem to be a bit of confusion surrounding how a turf's Capture Range is determined. If not drawing a capture zone on the Map, would showing some other pertinent information about capturing (i.e. if the owner is inactive, in a vendetta, etc) on the Turf's profile screen be useful, without removing the Fog of War from the game?

Just wanted to check if you read the entirety of the geocoder announcement – I've included the last line of it below in case you missed it:
…because Turf Wars is using a snapshot of the data, errant changes will not reflect in the geocoder anyway.
So yes, if you edit OpenStreetMap simply to boost your Turf Wars game, besides being an asshole and wasting the OpenStreetMap moderators' time, you're also wasting your own time, since we don't anticipate updating the geocoder database more than once a year, if that. -

If they need to understand, just explain it to them. We all learned by experience. not cheats.

I say give it to us all as part of the game play then take it away and make people buy it back oh wait that was already done with cap skill 🍻
As for some dots and junk to show range keep that garbage in the circle square game -

If you would like to include it as part of the tutorial feature that would be fine because that way new comers would be able to visually understand it or be aware of what it is exactly.Thank you everyone for the detailed feedback, both in this thread and via Feedback!

How about something useful like minimum capture distance of 150 meters?

It's a bit off subject but I would like to see an upgraded notification system. I can't tell you how many times I get capped and never receive one notification of an attack. I think that would be more useful than a capture circle.

No. This is just reinforcing the laziness of players who want everything spoon fed to them. This type of player is not the type of player who will stick around long term and keep the game sustainable. A strategy game any dumbass can play well without even trying is not gonna be worth playing.Thank you everyone for the detailed feedback, both in this thread and via Feedback!

Why not continue with options? Do google and apple charge too much?

@nick please fix the Rocco Lampone map issue. Seems to be a ongoing and spreading issue in the game.
Oh, you don't... oh, ok... yeah, no I understand... thanks
-
Can we mediate this somehow? The big and time-invested players (visibly) dislike this possibility, why noobscrubs, or the "lazy players who want everything spoon fed to them" want...Everything spoon fed to them. Maybe a limit on the amount of capture radii you can see, similar to mob searches?

How about seeing the deffense upgrades on a turf such as a lookout or machinegun nest or all the turfs def upgrades rather than us wasting Stamina to see if such turf has these upgrades ?
