I feel there should be a map button that lets you see how far away you can capture turf. Just like New Turf but showing where you can go to capture instead

It don't work the same way. Capture distances vary depending on your size and opponents size.

How come one turf which is under a mile away too far but one that is a mile away IS close enough?

The more mob a person has the further they can be capped from. In order to cap a turf you need all green checks on turf cap list and you need more attack power than their defense. You get more power by adding more mob and equipping them with weapons.

Heather already told you. It all depends on their mob size. The bigger their mob, the further away you can be and still cap them.

Seems like reading comprehension isn't your string suit. "MOB" not influence sets the range.

The average is supposed to be 4 times the size of a turf, but that varies with the size of the opponent you're trying to capture.

Well if you read my name you can tell I'm usually stoned when I play so. Either way you didn't say the opponents mob specifically you said "a person" which could've meant either one of us. Mickey was the one who specified it was the opponent. After that I asked about my radius of how far I reached out at base value. Thanks Ojibwe
