Of course it is needed or we would end up with a million duplicate topics and a million pointless posts.

What is waiting 2 1/2 minutes that bad? Imagine the amount of spam if we didn't have the limiter!! 2 posts, wait 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and your good to go. It's annoying sometimes but it prevents massive spamming which is far more annoying than not posting for a couple minutes
