Airplane Ticket / Remote Drop via Don Points
Forums › Suggestions & Feedback › Airplane Ticket / Remote Drop via Don Points-
Since not all of us travel frequently, or live in areas that put us as an inherent disadvantage due to lack of players and density I propose the following:
By spending "x" amount of respect points, the player may then drop a turf, anywhere on the globe. For 48 hours after this turf is placed, it may be upgraded for influence. However, expansion around the dropped turf, or capturing around the turf would be impossible until the waiting period expired to keep larger players from swooping in and immediately dominating an area. 48 hrs is a short waiting period but it would give players in the area time to either welcome their new neighbor, to gather arms to push them out.
I just feel like it sucks as I'm in Kansas City and my density here is paltry compared to some of my friends who play in Dallas, or Chicago or New York. It unbalances the game for players like me b/c our income will NEVER be as much as individuals living in more dense areas.

Think this through buddy. This is actually stupid and kills the purpose of the game. If i wanted to own real places without actually being there I'd buy monopoly but with this idea antarctica would be filled and it would just screw everything up
-
Im curious why you think that since you didn't really explain why. How do you feel it kills the purpose of the game? or screw anything up?
-
Good idea... Already a thread about it
rekon it should cost like 10m, and only ever be able to buy the one
-
if you were only able to buy one, and that turf was subsequently captured, do you think it would be good to be able to do it again?

I think the best fix for this problem is buying the ticket, and extending your green circle out to a 50-100 mile radius so that you could get to a larger city. Or only the iPod touch users get it. Only be able to place 1 turf before the circle shrinks back to it's .6 mile radius and build on from your new turf.Think this through buddy. This is actually stupid and kills the purpose of the game. I have thought about this as well, would be interesting. I second the expanding green circle reach would be a nice option as well.

means you'll have to plan it out cos if you had more that one the massive mobsters will just take the world
-
Yeah this would be waaay too beneficial for the biggest players. We all have a ton of cash so even 10m would be cheap to me. If I was near my turf limit I would choose to build near people I could capture all their turf from

Are there even any registered roads in antartica?

I still think the pros are better than the cons.
Pretty soon vendetta will be out. You know what that means? 3 groups of 50 mob members against 1 with 100. That means the big guys can't do very much. Even if this comes out it will most definately be after vendetta. Don't you think these small mobs who are bound to be captured would throw the bigger mobs out? With that being said I still see no problems with this. I would love to get out of my city with only 3 active large mobs and 3 smaller ones. Just think about someone loving this game when theire in the middle of kentuky. They could get their asses out of Nowhere, Kentuky and get into at least louiville.
I'm not saying I want to go anywhere, just somewhere that's not here.
Hope everyone sees the good in this. Including the devs. -

This is known as a "location based" game. So being able to place turfs in a country or region you are not in does ruin some basic ideas about the game. If you are looking for global domination, I think they put out Risk recently.
-
Yeah. And the location based aspect of the game inherently puts players not located in dense areas at an immediate disadvantage. most of the dev work spent on mmo games is balance work. This idea adds balance.

I don't like this Idea.. I think it is too much fun to travel to a newplace and stake my claim. I already have a couple of spots plotted for some towns near me that have a bit more action! Just play oneday you'll be in a bigger city or town and it'll be sweet that you actually saw that spot and took it over

Do you know how much of the world is unpopulated. Shit look at those maps of the world at night and you will see where tgere aren't any lights in the sky. And you are wanting people to pay real money or in game money to drop a turf in any area in the world. If I was the devs I would take your money and drop you turf into someplace that would make you worse off then you already are. Suggestion. Maybe you can revise this an with you little thing we are talking about they can give you a temporary green circle in the closest big city to you. That would be more beneficial. Or the 100 mile circle suggestion
-
The 100 mile circle wouldn't really help out much considering that the largest city in my state has only 2 players over 500 influence. I think there should be a limit though, say you can have 1 or 2 and 1 gets captured at that point you would be able to buy another one from the don but could not exceed the limit. 1 question... Would you be able to do it if you were over your turf limit?
-
I too do not like this idea. I think most of the intrigue (or at least some) of the game is deciding where to position one's turfs for a multitude of reasons including the fact that it may be in a more remote location that is largely unoccupied. I am a new player, and if I were not afforded a little quiet piece of turf away from those risky places that mat potentially be stolen from me, I probably would have lost interest. As it stands, I have my few money-makers for me in the risky areas, but my bread and butter turfs provide some security that I can continue to "feed my mob".
-
Fraser, what you just said is almost entirely irrelevant to the gist of my idea...
-
Let's say only for players over lvl 60 with a lot of requirements, make it 200+ don point so it becomes more of an elite item, point being is that you can't defend your far away turfs anyway so it's kind o pointless right now
-
You can defend turfs from anywhere.
This is a great idea. I support it.
