Maybe needs a bit of fine tuning but here goes.
When you attack someone ... There a small percentage chance that 'x' number of your weapons are damaged and need replacing. Each attack in quick succession increases the chance of some of your weaps being damaged. Likewise when you defend turf there's a chance your armour will be damaged and need replacing.
Why.... ?
Well for one it will give those hoarding billions in cash somthing to spend it on particularly if the chance of dmg to weapons and armour increases as your lvl rises.
It doesn't have to be many weapons that are lost each time ... Just somthing to represent wear and tear of heavy action.
Like I said ... It may need a few tweaks -

So... The Players commin up the ranks will have a harder time gettin to the top then those already there? An those already there have it easyier to defend the top...

Did you read it ??? I said the higher your lvl the greater the possibility. At level 1 a possibility of .1 % is hardly anything which if it increased at .1 % per level would manifest an 8 % chance at lvl 80. It's clearly a little advance for most of you. Never mind ... I'll put it to bed.

I like, but upkeep is done as an alternative to this.

I accept what you're saying corrupted but this is a way to affect those relentless streams of attacks from larger players who seem to have endless stamina. The more they hit... The more the chance their weapons will fail and need replacing.
