It took me ages to get used to the transparent turfs & now you want to back?
This could explain why people have complained about not being able to see my 1 inf turfs.
I like the .23 version better though.

Thanks everyone for the opinions! It looks like the display of the turfs is a preference that varies a lot between players, so we've decided to add a transparency slider in version 2.24's app config, so users can adjust the transparency to their tastes.
Version 2.24 will default to the transparency level shown in the previous 2.24 screenshot, so it is consistent across all devices (retina or not). iPhone 4/4s, iPad3, and iPod touch 4G users will see turf as being slightly darker, but will be able to configure the transparency as they like.

The basic question is – which looks better? If you have a strong opinion either way, please elaborate if you can. Thanks for any feedback you can offer!

I agree. Even though .24 looks very clean.TheUnknownEnemy wrote:
👍👍👍👍👍2.23 gets my vote. The transparency on the 2.23 allows us to see what turfs is underneath a huge group of turfs for example at major cities and airports. It would be much harder having to continuously zoom in and out to see what is where and it'd make the search longer.
BTW I'm on a iPhone 4 with no stability issues.

I hate the transparency of the turf. -
If I'm covering a turf completely it doesn't look like anyone would be able to see it in the .24 version from that image. So .23 version gets my vote
-
FWIW the transparency is adjusted by zoom level (as it always has been), so version 2.24 looks roughly the same at closer zooms (i.e. can see the turf names) as 2.23.

.23 can see where turf is cause you can the map behind it do you know where you are.
-
I like .23 as well. I feel that .24 will make it extremely hard to see turfs that are overlapped.
-
I think the 1inf turfs look way too big, no?

Both! Allow players to have transparency options as well as color
-
2.23 for all the reasons already said👍
-
I like the clear crisp colours of 2.24, but then I like the transparency of 2.23....
There's only one way to sort this out...
-
Can we get the transparent turf with a faded black outline? That way we can see distinct boundaries and still have the lovely transparent colors.
-
I vote 23 for all reasons stated already. Additional, 24 looks like it might be harder to use actual physical landmarks to find someones turf.
-
I like the .23 transparency better. In crowed areas like airports in .24 you probably won't even be able to see where you are, the map being completely hidden by the turfs.
You transparency slider sounds like a GREAT idea. Thanks
-
Please consider making the transparency slider on the turf map itself and having the lowest transparency to allow the turf map to be seen fully. This would help om long hops, attack planning, location finding etc.

It looks like it's a split vote so I think that the transparency slider is a great implementation! Can't wait to see it.

.23 is better because of transparency

2.23 cause I find turfs get lost in 2.24 for me
-
2.23 is much better for all the esthetic and strategic reasons already told in the previous quotes
-
2.23 is better for many reasons all of my reasons have already been mentioned so I won't. Changing to 2.24's style will expose a lot of player and open the game up a lot more, not necisarily a good thing in this case
