I was just checking out scavenger wars, and while their format pretty well sucks, their forums have quite a few features that ours lack.

It seems there is no character limit, or at least it's very high compared to ours.
There is a built in search function.
they have the ability to post screenshots.

These are just a few of the things I noticed while browsing. Maybe everyone is happy the way things are, but I for one, see lots of room for improvement in our forums. What do you guys think? I understand that game is the beta version, and they might see huge amounts of change in the near duture, but would some of these things make our forums better?

Players shouldn't be able to post pics. Sadly, many can't be trusted not to post inappropriate images.

I'll agree with that. We don't want this becoming chat roulette. But an integrated forum search? I believe it also has a system for favoriting threads in their forums, as well as players.

I agree with Mystery on images.

Regarding filtering, search or favorites I see both pro's and con's.

Pros, I think that being able to have a search or filter feature for your favorite threads would be handy for the player.

Cons, will this mean that some threads that go past their used by date keep getting dragged back to the top of the pile. Remember a couple of weeks ago we had a troll resurrecting 2 year old threads. This could be a daily issue with people dragging their favorites out even though no one else cares for them.

I think it would become worse, I mean now we can complain and feedback can give them a suspension. But if their defence is I didn't realize it was old it was in my favorites. It would be hard to suspend them...

I just bookmark them in Safari. Not all necromancy is bad. It's ok to bring back threads if you have something worthwhile to add to it or if someone was referring to it, etc. You should have a good reason for bringing it back & never use the word "Bump."
