Solution to a possible problem

Obe seen mention of this from all sides. Certain players seem to be able to attack way too quickly. Personally I suspect foul play in some cases. But I'm not here to accuse. I'm here to offer a solution. Dampen attacks an acct can make to 1-3 per second. I myself have never gotten over 3 attacks a second on any connection. The number seems fair an it'll eliminate the possibility of foul play

And can we move the phone off the quote button and the top mobster list mob button. Annoying. Thanks. 😁

This idea really needs more press as it eliminates a possible loophole in the game.

What does it matter if someone attacks once or 3 times per second? The attacks will stop once you're ERd or the stamina runs out. I don't get it.

I attack only on wifi and it is so fast. 3G attacks are slow. Same with snaking. I also close all apps but turfwars when playing. If your on 3 g with no wifi turn ur wifi off this will help.
-
Depends on the wifi I use when attacking. My home wifi is a fiber network that is stupid fast. I can probably get 3 attacks if I use an iPad 2

The idea is there is a possible cheat. Or a suspected possible cheat. This would make it impossible

Good thinking 👍

I've seen how fast the 4s and ipad2 are compared with the 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod etc. if anything a player with a fast connection on the newest device has a speed advantage against those on older devices. That is all. I think people are being paranoid tbh.

Its possible. But isn't it better to be safe than sorry?⌖🔥Belial🔥⌖ wrote:

It Is better to be safe than sorry I agree. But I also think its better to be sure before potentially limiting the gameplay for a potential "cheat". The game is so favourable to the defender of the turf whilsy repairing as it is. Only in situations when the server goes gaga do you lose turf (while the repair button "loads") or when multiple people attack ur turf.
If there is a cheat I'm all for this. If there isn't then this is a bad idea.

Why haven't they been able to heal? Have they been on 3G or other such crap mobile data streams at the time? Are they on an old pod/pad/phone? These are the questions that need asking.
Some of the best fighters I know attack so quick that it is difficult (not impossible) to defend against. They are my enemies and I know with 99% certainty they aren't cheating. I dont think the edge they have should be taken away no matter how frustrating.

Fair enough. Let's all be the same mob, with the same stats, can't increase turf limit... I could go on. The difference of the individual mobs is what makes the game so diverse.randombloke wrote:

But difference in playing speed is a bit ridiculous. No one should have that much of an advantage
-
Why not? I have an advantage over a legitimate noob who plays and punches because of my mob. However, I am at disadvantage against a low mob level 25 that targets me in a vendetta week in week out as I can't even cap them till get in my 10%. It's just one advantage and you haven't answered whether the people of which you speak are using 3G at the time of defending.

You are claim there are people who can get notified that their turfs are being attacked and heal them while being attacked to thwart the attacker? Hmmm I'm not decided where I am on this. At the moment it's a 50/50 split between both of you B n RB.
Whilst I see B's point of potential damage limitation I feel RB is also correct in that it'd disadvantage the genuine players.
I'm on an iPhone 4S, have a fast wifi connection most of the day, but quiet often I still have delays in notifications, sometimes up to a few minutes, sometimes they are instant, sometimes I get on to TW quick to heal, sometimes it takes forever.
To be honest, I think this is more luck of the draw, you can't fix this for every player. You win some, you lose some.
I think legitimate advantages shouldn't be disadvantaged but those found to be potentially taking advantage deliberately should be dealt with and the focus should be fixing that loophole.

I don't even get notifications... Only when I refresh the app and/or exit and go back. I have an iPod 2 :(

This is all based on network latency, server load (workload) and device processing speed - lots of factors to take into consideration.
When fighting players in the USA, I find they defend and attack faster - I assume it is because of proximity to the game server and my network latency (time it takes a signal to get across the world to the server and back) .. If it takes 8-10 hits to cap, and at least half a second per attack, that is a small window of opportunity for you to defend and repair your turf anyway. The main issue is the delay in response time in dealing with your client requests: open the app and log in; check news; open turf screen; repair turf.
When playing on my iPad, I think the latest changes to networking have made the game considerably slower - this may also be true for 3G/3GS owners. My 4S is still fast! I see the alert on that before it arrives on the iPad. I can then open the app and repair quicker than I could on the old hardware.

(continued from last post)
And finally, sometimes the game server has a lot to handle during peak playing hours. Database locks (do a search, I won't explain here) and other activity slows the response time down .. As will how busy the Apple Notification Servers are at that point too. Conversely, when things are quiet, attacks seem to go quicker.
The only way to determine what is going on is to capture all of the information (network latency, server load, etc) and compare the devices used. Only then can you begin to decide how to proceed.
I think the game is sound as it is. Ask anyone that fights me: if I'm on, I defend like a demon .. The advantage is mine. If I am attacking, and I know they are on, I try different tactics - you just need to be faster than that cycle (check news-see turf-repair). iPods probably don't cut it anymore.
