We need player majority voting controlled forums

The forums are a little outdated and a couple little additions could really benefit the community as a whole in my opinion.
- The first addition I think would make the boards far more organized, and efficient, would be a chan image board inspired "sage" feature. For those of you who aren't familiar with chan image boards, or this feature, allow me to explain.
Very often in any forum here on TW, someone will post something distasteful, irrelevant to that forum, or plain random. What sage does is allow the community as a whole to vote on pushing the thread down the page list, and even deletion. How it works is you simply post the word "sage" in the topic line and post. Every time the thread gets a sage it goes down one topic on the main forum page. Pretty much a reversal bump. After 20 sage posts on a specific thread it gets deleted.

This could allow the players to, in a way, police the forums themselves. This would end the need to yell at noobs in invite forums, since you would just type "sage" and ignore them until they figure it out. It would clean out the bots in the invite forums, so mods wouldn't have to. And it would keep distasteful posts made by trolls crash and burn in failure.

+1.

Interesting!

I always thought the sage feature didn't work? At least I've seen numerous thread with a ton of sag posts still existing.

This feature would have to be turned off in the V forum though. It'd be too easy to team up and get rid of someone thread?

On 4chan it works on a timer too. If it gets say 10 sages or more within 15-20mins it gets deleted quickly. If it gets just say 2 every couple hours, then it won't get pushed back as quickly or deleted. That why those threads seemed to last forever. Not enough sage dedication by the community.I always thought the sage feature didn't work? At least I've seen numerous thread with a ton of sag posts still existing.

Maybe. But the thread would still exist, and a person could always just screen cap, and repost it explaining the nefarious, and cowardly sage against a legitimate vendetta. Our community is tight knit, and quiché enough to hold those who mass sage responsible. But it's not like the number of sages has to be universal per forum. The Vendetta forum could require more sages to have the same effect that less sages have on general, or invite. I don't however believe sage is required for help, or suggestion forums since mystery and others pretty much got those on lockdown as it is ;D
Of course this idea would take some beta testing on all of our parts in order to provide data for the devs to figure out the exact number of sages fits each forum, and this number might have to fluctuate depending on noob waves.
-
I feel like this idea could work really well especially for our community because we do have that tradition of slapping idiots who abuse the forums, as well as having a very reliable veteran player base who will keep this feature from being abused, and make sure it's used correctly.
I mean if this was implemented just right in just the invite and general forums, imagine how much more efficient, seamless, and organized they would become! The community as a whole would build the forums to reflect it's general wants and needs together quickly, and efficiently.
-
There of course would be alot more issues to take into account to make this idea more suited to our forum's needs, so speak up and add to it! This is still just a rough draft.

I like this. But would there be a set number of times a certain player could 'sage' a certain thread? because I could see someone spamming sage on one post they don't like.

But then the phrase would lower the thread even when used without that intent. "sage" is used because who talks about sage besides chefs and Indians? Its just not a word normally used in message boards. It really could be any word like that really.Maybe something more original. Mob up or shut up instead of sage 😜

Why not just a thumbs down button? Sage is weird sorry

I have cooked with sage and it is a very aromatic herb. Lol. I see what you mean. Let's use a different herb! Like, "Hey man, let's rosemarry this 💩 thread."Jeff 🍆 Newton wrote:

I like it... But players could team up and push threads off the forums whenever they want
-
I think the word (or any form of) bully should automatically push a thread down. Players constantly use the word when it doesn't apply - which is about 95% of the time.
